Jones Family Travels Shares First Time at Volcano Bay Water Theme Park

Tim, Allison, Kelly and Hunter take us along for their first time visiting Volcano Bay at Universal Orlando Resort! They have a busy day checking out the new water park, riding all the water slides, and taking a dip in the lazy river. Check it out!

With the power of the TapuTapu™ wearable, there’s no standing in long lines! You can use it to hold your place in a virtual line (after entering the park), and the wrist band notifies you when it’s time for your ride. There’s also no carrying rafts around the park, which was great!

The kids had a great time checking out Punga Racers even though it had a little bit of a rough ending. But everyone enjoyed the ride on their manta ray mats sliding down four lanes through underwater sea caves.

Hunter and Tim dropped into a 10 foot pool on the Ohyah of Ohyah & Ohno Drop Slides, landing in turquoise blue waters at the base of Krakatau, the volcano centerpiece at Volcano Bay.

You won’t find Disney’s Moana at Volcano Bay, but you will find Honu of the Honu ika Moana.  Just like the ancient Waturi people who rode the ocean waves on friendly sea turtles, you twist and  turn on this multi-person slide. On Honu, you can surf the underwater currents on a four-passenger raft, speeding through an open flume, then streaking along two massive walls emblazoned with Waturi turtles. ika Moana (another slide) lets you go with the flow on a five-passenger raft as you glide along twists and turns, passing over bubbling geysers which erupt like a whale’s blowhole.

All enjoyed the Kopiko Wai Winding River, which was a slow ride on the Kopiko Wai Winding River through the tropical landscape of Universal’s Volcano Bay. It’s a land full of surprises!

Have you checked out Volcano Bay at Universal Orlando yet?
